Download speed problem?

I used to download at really high speed (1 Mb/s using Internet Download Manager).





But lately there's been something strange happening.





I'm downloading at 1mb second for about a minute but then it slows down to a crawl to 5 kb/s.





I pause my download, wait for a minute and then once again get great speed but drop to a crawl after a minute or so.





It didn't use to do this so I'm thinking it's got something to do with the server provided by the hotel.





Anyways, are there any ways to fix this? How can I bypass this?

The downloading depends on your ISP and you just mention ot's in hotel, so it also depends on how many users are online
Reply:Download speed is invariably a function of two factors. 1) The ability of your source to deliver the content at a given speed. 2) The ability of your system to save it as it arrives. In most cases, issues revolve around #1. Some ISPs try to limit downloads from selected sites to make the available bandwidth more available for more users. There are several news stories about this being done all over the country. The cause can be limits placed by your ISP or the data source.
