I don't want to do anything illegal, so I'm making sure.
I know download.com is a reputable site, but the fact that the downloads are free makes me hesitant.
I also know that sometimes bands and singers allow free downloads in order to promote their music.
The only music download site that I know are legal are itunes and amazon (I usually use the Pepsi points I collect to download music on amazon).
So, is download.com okay?
Is it legal to download music off download.com/?
I don't know if downloading music from free music sites are illegal, but it certainly isn't right. If you're not paying for your downloads, you're not paying the royalties the musicians deserve for their work. Please don't do free downloads. I did it, and I feel like I have stolen from the artists. I have ended up deleting all of the free music I downloaded and bought the paid versions off of legal download sites such as Puretracks. After getting rid of all the free music, I felt much, much better that I didn't keep them or burn them to CD's. It's reassuring to me when I give remuneration to the artists who wrote the songs I really like.
Reply:/ It is perfectly legal.
These are the legal music downloads which are free, in order to get you coming back for more and eventually you may want to buy some of the artist's music outside.
Reply:ugh any that are totally free are totally illegal. to protect yourself buy a subscription. i went to limewire and bought a lifetime subscription to isharepro.com download site for under a 100 and that protects me. its worth it to pay.
Reply:Flickrmusic has been a great place for me to obtain a great deal of music. It has been very beneficial for me because I do not have a lot of time to shop for this music.
