Cant complete download of PDF file: Format Error :Not a PDF or corrupted?

Download process begins ok, then after about 200 to 500 KB of the download, the screen freezes white then several seconds later get error msg above. Same thing happens with Foxit or Adobe Reader. Using 48.8 dial-up. This particular file downloads


ok from the public library with hi-speed. Note : the Foxit User MAnual, very large file, about 2 meg, downloads ok from my home pc with Xp SP2. Other downloads from MS, virus software etc, always complete ok even if 20 meg or larger. I tried Changing privacy , Security settings to Medium, this did not help, Any help appreciated

I assume the link is opening with Adobe Reader (or Acrobat) in your web browser? Try saving the link (right click and save target or save link) and then opening the file from your hard disk.
Reply:The reason could be this. Sometimes, if certain program is corrupted, after repeated installation, it keeps on overwriting the program in the program files folder in C directory.





So you please delete the "Adobe" folder in the program files folder and then reinstall the Adobe program again. This should solve your problem mostly.
Reply:Try right click on file itself,then choose save as


watch where you save file.


This will download file to your computer.


Then you can open it.
