I am downloading movies from emule, is it legal to download movies?

which I think is not illegal, for the fact that I wont sell or copy these movies and sell it. plus to me doesn't make sence that these sharing programs like limewire and others. are available for downloading. if its illegal why then allowed these programs to download. iI have limewire the music I download its for my use only. I don't sell the music. it all depends if you are going to sell music and movies copies then cops can get you, but if its for personal use at home. then should be legal. otherwise these sharing programs wouldnt be available for download

They're illegal if YOU didn't pay for YOUR copy, whether or not you are going to share or sell it. The only way you can make a copy or download a copy is if you own the movie or song yourself. Then you're allowed to have one backup copy for your own use.
Reply:It's illegal to share.
Reply:It's illegal because you haven't paid for the music or the film.

Limewire is still legal because there are some legal files on there. You legally contract with Limewire to not download anything illegal.

It is similar to sneaking into see a film in a cinema.
Reply:If it's copyrighted and you are d/l for free it's called piracy of intellectual property, meaning just go pay the 3 bucks and rent the DVD.
