If I download a torrent from 1 comp, and the same on a diff. one,but same house, does that count as a seed?

So, If I am downloading a torrent on one computer(a torrent with no seeds) and I download that same file on a different computer, but in the same house, then would that get me a seed?


all I need to do to have seeds for a torrent is for people to be downloading that same file, if there are no people downloading that file, than there are no seeds, but if people are downloading it than there will be seeds? Sorry, I've been asking questions on this subject all day. I'm having some trouble at home.

yes. every source of download is a seed
Reply:a seed is someone who has the entire file and is doling out pieces to those who do not have the entire file.


someone who is trying to download a file and has some part of it (or none of it) is a leech.





so, if there is not someone with more of the file than you sharing it you will never get it no matter how many computers you hook onto the swarm.





it is possible for a group of leeches to individually not have the whole file, but as a swarm the entire file exists, just spread out until everyone gets the pieces they need. but it is much better if there are seeds available.
